Constantinos Loizou

Second Vice President
Constantinos Loizou was born and raised in Nicosia, but is originally from the occupied areas of Morphou and Kyrenia. He holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and also worked as a researcher on a Watermining project, developing and operating a next-generation water-smart integrated wastewater treatment system, for three years. In addition, he has carried out 3 internships, 1 at MTN and 2 at the Cyprus Institute. He has been actively involved in the youth sector in Greece and Cyprus since 2017. During the 2020–21 season, he served as Vice President of the Student Association for International Affairs in Greece, and in July 2023, he was elected to the Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY Board of Directors as secretary general for the 2023–25 term. He was unanimously elected President of the Cyprus Youth Council for the 2024–2025 biennium. He has been actively involved in the Council’s activities since 2019, participating in several projects. These include the House of Youth Representatives programme, for which he has been a steering committee member since the summer of 2023, and the European Youth Dialogue. Through the latter, he has represented Cyprus twice as a Youth Representative in Sweden and Spain during the 9th and 10th cycles, respectively. Also, he has also been appointed by the President of the Republic of Cyprus as a member to the Bicommunal Technical Committee on Youth. Maria is actively involved in various groups, organizations, and non-governmental organizations dealing with issues related to mental and sexual health, well-being and healthy relationships, gender-based violence, and the empowerment and training of young individuals on topics such as equality, acceptance of diversity, behavioral or substance dependencies, and destigmatization. Among her core priorities are the reunification of our island, the promotion of social well-being, and the building of a more human-centered society where all its members have the right to live with dignity, equality, and equity.
