The Cyprus Youth Council (CYC) is pleased to announce the organization of the three day conference “The Empowerment of National Youth Council”. The Conference will be held on 9 – 11 February 2018 at Poseidonia Beach Hotel, Limassol.
General Information:
The purpose of the Conference:
The main objective of the project is to achieve an upgrading of the existing Policy Paper of CYC (2007) on “Strengthening the Cyprus Youth Council” through a constructive dialogue between young people and policy makers. The project will be focused on a constructive dialogue, cooperation and mutual understanding among the participants (member organizations of CYC, members of organizations not belonging to CYC, non-aligned youth) in order to work together for the enrichment of CYC activities. Emphasis will be put on strengthening the role of Youth organizations and the CYC, since the empowerment of both is interdependent. The purpose of the project is also to record the problems and needs of the CYC in a policy document which will be sent to the European Youth Forum, which is the official platform for their representation of National Youth Councils at European level.
Profile of Participants:
- Be aged 16 – 30 years old
- Be actively involved in Youth NGOs – members of CYC
- Knowledge about the Role of National Youth Council
- Have a growing interest in youth and politics
- Be informed about the purposes and activities of the organization
- Be able to explain to other participants of the activities involving the organization
- Take part in all the workshops
Specific Information Accommodation and food:
Participants will incur a participation fee of 20€ which will cover full boarding (rooms of three) and lodging during the seminar. (After the selection, each participant is responsible to pay the fee at least ten (10) days before the Conference. Further details will be sent to the selected persons).
Transportation costs:
Each participant coming to the conference with car will be given twenty (20) euros for transport costs. (People residing in Limassol are excluded). For the payment of the above amount, the relevant evidence must first be submitted.
Working language:
The working language of the seminar will be Greek. However, if there are sufficient English-speaking participants there will be a workshop in English.

Participants that will take part in all activities of the conference will receive a certificate of attendance.
There is a limited number of participants.
Information on the selection of participants will take place on 19 January 2018.
Priority will be given to applicants from member organizations of the Cyprus Youth Council.
