Cyprus Youth Council (CYC) is pleased to announce the organization of the three day conference “Youth Up” which will focus on the alternative forms for political participation.
The Conference will be held on 24 – 26 June 2016 at Tasiana Hotel in Limassol

The purpose of the Conference:
The purpose of the seminar is to offer young people involved in CYC’s member organizations, members of the CYC’s pool of trainers and members of the CYC’s secretariat, the opportunity to meet and discuss current issues that affect them directly.
The idea for the program came out from the Trio Presidency of the EU Council (Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg), which focused on the empowerment of young people (Youth Empowerment). In the context of the Luxembourg Youth Meeting young people and policy makers were engaged with alternative forms of participation in order to increase their participation in the political process at National and European level.
Specifically, the conference will focus on the issue of alternative forms of participatory democracy among the youth of Cyprus.
This project is funded by the Program Erasmus + under Key Action 3* – Support for policy reforms. This sub-Action supports initiatives to strengthen innovation and progressive reforms, European recognition tools and dialogue on policy issues with stakeholders, with partner countries and international organizations. It also supports the promotion of European political strategy (support of “OMC”) and dissemination – use the results subsidized activities.
Profile of Participants:
• Be aged 16 – 30years old
• Be actively involved in Youth NGOs – members of CYC
• Be informed about the purposes and activities of the organization
• Be able to explain to other participants of the activities involving the organization
• Take part in all the workshops (Friday 14:00 – Sunday 16:00)
Specific Information Accommodation and food:
Participants will incur a participation fee of 10€ which will cover full boarding (rooms of three) and lodging during the seminar. If there are sufficient number of participants will be available bus for transportation.
Working language:
The working language of the seminar will be Greek. However, if there are sufficient English-speaking participantsthere will be a workshop in English.

Participants that will take part in all activities of the conference will receive a certificate of attendance.
There is a limited number of participants.
Information on the selection of participants will take place on 10 th June 2016.
