The Cyprus Youth Council (CYC), as the official platform for the representation of Youth Organisations in Cyprus and as the coordinator of the National Working Group for the EU Youth Dialogue, continues for another year the successful institution of the “Youth Ambassadors” Group with the selection of new members.

Team Goals   

The Youth Ambassadors Team is open for all the young people of Cyprus, regardless of their national origin and social background, and aims to involve young people more actively in the public domain and in particular in the EU Youth Dialogue.  

It also aims to increase the knowledge about the EU, to develop social and leadership skills and to guide and empower young people to act more independently. 

Team Actions 

The Youth Ambassadors Team will focus both on a more active and participative implementation of the EU Youth Dialogue and on the more general involvement of young people in society through educational and informative, but always entertaining, meetings and conferences, using non formal learning techniques. A number of members of the group will also have the opportunity to take part in the European Youth Conference organised by the country holding the Presidency of the Council of the EU, if they so wish. 

In addition, members of the Youth Ambassadors Team will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the preparation and organisation of the European Youth summit, which will take place in Cyprus during the first half of 2026, under the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.   

The selected young people must be able to take part in all the activities of the Group throughout the process. Their term  will be 18 months (between 2025 – 2026) supporting the process of the 11th cycle of the European Youth Dialogue. Among other things, the Youth Ambassadors candidates must be able to organise EU Youth Dialogue consultations, write articles on the process, communicate and publicise activities, be involved at local and national level, present the process if necessary to youth groups and represent Cyprus at European and national level, and will be invited to contribute to the preparation and organisation of the European Youth Summit, which will take place in Cyprus in the first half of 2026, under the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.
