The three-day Summer Conference of the Cyprus Youth Council (CYC) entitled ‘Are You Youth Voting, in the upcoming EU Elections?’, which was organized between June 16-18 at the Rodon Hotel in Agros, was successfully completed.

75 Young Men and Women, 16 – 30 years old, coming from Organizations that are members of the CYC and young people from all over Cyprus, under the guidance of the Pool of Trainers of the Cyprus Youth Council and through constructive dialogue, Non-Formal Learning activities and through open dialogue with drawing bodies policy, expressed their opinions and suggestions regarding the achievement of the active participation of young people in the upcoming European elections in 2024.

Among other things, issues such as ‘e-Voting’, issues of accessibility for young Turkish Cypriots regarding the inclusion of the Turkish language in matters of information for our Turkish Cypriot fellow citizens were discussed, the actions and initiatives of the European Youth Forum were discussed regarding the issues youth participation, the results and proposals in the context of the Conference on the Future of Europe and the participation of youth in electoral processes.

The results of the conference as well as the suggestions made by the participants will shape the policy document that will be submitted to the relevant policy makers in order to influence youth policy making.
