Project Duration: August 2022 – April 2023
Project Number: 2022-1-CY02-KA154-YOU-000070894
Project Description:
The main focus and action of the project was to organize four-day mobility in Cyprus between the 21-24th of October 2022, where 30 young people representing ten different National Youth Councils and ten different countries of Southern Europe in which they had the opportunity to discuss digital youth participation and e-democracy, exchange practices and knowledge on the topic but also engage in a dialogue with policymakers, both from Cyprus and from the EU, about digital democracy, e-democracy, and how the technological world could bring solutions to already existing and prevailing problems, such as the great gap of young voters taking part in elections not only nationally but also in the European elections. The focus of the conference also relied on Youth Goals 3 and 10, namely “Inclusive Societies” and “Sustainable Green Europe”, the priorities of the current cycle (9th) of the EU Youth Dialogue. The conference resulted in the development of a Collection of Good Practices on E-democracy and Policy Recommendations on behalf of the ten National Youth Councils participating in the conference, focusing on digital youth participation along with Youth Goals 3 and 10.
