Antonis Tambouras

First Vice President
Antonis Tambouras was born and raised in Nicosia and comes from occupied Morphou. He is a PhD Candidate in “Curricula, Teaching and Comparative Pedagogy” of the Department of Educational Sciences of the University of Cyprus, specializing in European Politics. He holds a first degree in “Education Sciences-Primary Education” and a master’s degree in “Curricula and Comparative Pedagogy” of the University of Cyprus. He has received scholarships for both his postgraduate and doctoral studies. His main research interests include European Politics and International Relations, Global Governance of Education, Curriculum Design and Development, Teaching Theory and Methodology, Curriculum Sociology, Teacher Professional Identity, Teacher Professional , Research in Textbooks, Emotional Intelligence in Education, Educational Lending Phenomena and Comparative Pedagogy. His research has been presented at local and international conferences and has been published in journals and conference proceedings. In addition to his academic interests, he is actively involved with the public, with Youth issues and with European and International issues. In the period 2016 – 2020 he worked as a Research Associate at the Department of Educational Sciences of the University of Cyprus. From 2018 until today he works as an Instructor in the Optional All-Day Schools of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports. Since the academic year 2020 he has been working as a Special Scientist in Research and Teaching at the Department of Education Sciences of the University of Cyprus and as an Instructor of optional seminars for teachers at the Cyprus Pedagogical Institute. At the same time, he participates as a Researcher in Research Programs of the University of Cyprus. Both his postgraduate and doctoral dissertations focus on European politics and how it is formulated, planned and promoted at European level, but also how it is recruited and implemented in the local context.
