BRIEF BIO:
Theognosia Petrou is a Project Manager and Researcher at CARDET. Theognosia holds a Bachelor degree in Sociology from the University of Cyprus and a Graduate Diploma in Social Anthropology from Auckland University in New Zealand. She has obtained her Master Degree in Teaching English to people of Other Languages (TESOL) with Applied Linguistics at the University of Central Lancashire in Cyprus. Theognosia, as a project manager, manages several projects related to a variety of topics, such as social inclusion, migration, youth, education and learning. Before that, Theognosia worked as a youth worker at the Cyprus Youth Clubs Organisation- KOKEN for almost 4 years where she had a daily interaction with young people and organized many trainings and workshops related to youth work, sexual harassment, volunteering and corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Additionally, Theognosia through her volunteering action at the Cyprus Family Planning Association and Hope for Children, had the opportunity to facilitate a number of seminars and experiential workshops in relation to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), school bullying and healthy relationships. Also, she has worked as an English teacher at a private English school in China and had an internship at the European Commission at the Directory General of Education and Culture in Belgium.
