The Cyprus Friendship Programme (CFP) announces its 2018 summer experience for Cypriot youth.  Motivated and energetic students between the ages of 15 and 18 are invited to apply for limited places. This year, residential camps will take place in Cyprus and home stays with American families will be provided in California; Oregon; and Hawaii in the United States.  All activities will focus on developing leadership, communication and peace-building skills in order to improve understanding and build trust across the lines that divide Cyprus’ young people.

CFP is a non-profit organization based in the United States, made up of volunteers from the United States and across Cyprus. It has been working actively with Cypriot youth for ten years. Over 700 students from dozens of schools have participated in its programs, which promote dialogue, tolerance and mutual respect.  CFP’s mission is to advance peace and understanding in Cyprus by providing the island’s future leaders with the skills and experiences that will make them effective advocates for positive change and good global citizens.

Information on CFP and its 2018 summer programmes is available at www.cyprusfriendship.org. Applications must be completed online by February 28, 2018. Applicants must have at least one more year in school and at least one Cypriot parent.
