The President of the Cyprus Youth Council, Maria Diplarou, attended the EUPP5 Launch Event held at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia, highlighting the importance of citizen engagement and youth participation in shaping Europe’s future.

The event brought together representatives of institutions, civil society organisations, academics, and young people, fostering meaningful dialogue on participatory democracy, democratic spaces, and inclusive decision-making processes. Discussions also focused on Cyprus’ upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2026 and the role it can play in strengthening participatory democracy across Europe.
