The Cyprus Youth Council proudly participated in the 4th European Youth Work Convention, held on 28–29 May 2025 in Valletta, Malta the largest and most significant event for youth work in Europe.
Under the inspiring theme #YouthWorkXcelerate, the Convention brought together more than 500 youth workers, policy makers, researchers, and young people from across Europe, all united in their vision to reimagine and accelerate the future of youth work.
Representing Cyprus were Vice President B’ Maria Diplarou and Secretary General Andreas Kyprianides, who actively contributed to key discussions on
✅ Strengthening youth participation
✅ Building inclusive and resilient communities
✅ Elevating the recognition and quality of youth work
Over two days of dynamic exchanges, participants:
• Reflected on institutional frameworks and innovative practices
• Centred young people’s voices in shaping future policies
• Contributed to the development of a European Road map to advance youth work through both national and European initiatives
At a time when democracy faces significant challenges across Europe and beyond, the Convention reaffirmed the vital role of youth work as a tool for civic engagement, social inclusion, and youth empowerment.
💬 Through strategic dialogue and collaboration, the Cyprus Youth Council helped shape the European debate, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive, participatory, and sustainable youth policies both locally and internationally.
Together, we #Xcelerate the future of youth work! 💪🌍
