We are pleased to announce that Adamantia Zisimopoulou, Program and policy Officer at the Cyprus Youth Council, has been elected to the Advisory Council on Youth (AC) of the Council of Europe.

Her election took place on May 9, 2025, in Brussels, Belgium, during the General Assembly of the European Youth Forum, where she secured one of the seven seats allocated to National Youth Councils.

It is worth noting that this is the second time the Cyprus Youth Council has put forward a candidate for a position in the Advisory Council on Youth of the Council of Europe. In the past, a Cypriot had also been elected and even served as Vice-President—George Chatzigeorgiou, who was nominated by YEPP.

Through her active engagement, Adamantia’s main priorities and objectives focus on enhancing youth participation in decision-making processes at both local and national levels, ensuring that young people’s voices are meaningfully reflected in policies that affect them. She is also committed to building bridges of peace in divided societies, promoting peaceful coexistence and intercultural dialogue. Moreover, she emphasizes the need for fair and transparent access to EU funding tools for youth organizations. She envisions an inclusive Europe where young people do not simply have a seat at the table but actively shape the decisions and policies that define their future.

We firmly believe that Adamantia will continue to serve young people with the same dedication and commitment in her new role at the Advisory Council on Youth (AC) of the Council of Europe. Her presence on the Council strengthens both the Cyprus Youth Council and the voice of youth in Cyprus.
