In the context of the term of the 5th House of New Representatives but also in its context
European Youth Year, the co-organizers of the House of Young Representatives, the
Cyprus Youth Council and Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY, organize the event entitled
‘Come and meet the House of New Representatives’. The event will take place on
October 18, 2022, at 1888 in Nicosia at 7:00 pm.
Purpose of the House of New Representatives:
The Program of the House of New Representatives is a peculiar simulation of the
of the House of Representatives, with the aim of familiarizing young men and women with the role
of parliamentarism and to give them a platform to speak. During the Works of the 5th
Parliament of Young Representatives (November 16 – 18, 2021), the Young Members of Parliament had
the possibility to meet in five Parliamentary Committees (People
Rights and Equal Opportunities between Men and Women, Foreign and European
Issues, Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance, Environment and Health) and to
write Parliamentary Reports with proposals and recommendations to the reception centers
decisions of the Republic of Cyprus.
In the context of strengthening the dialogue between State Officials and the Youth
as the main objective of the Program of the House of Young Representatives, the co-organizers
addressed to State Officials, namely the Speaker of the House of Representatives,
competent Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Presidential Commissioners, who sent them
their suggestions regarding the issues that occupied the work of the 5th Parliament
of New Representatives.

Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Equal Opportunities between Men and Women

“The increase in youth unemployment is a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic, the problems that are created and the need to support them”

‘Protection of the Natural Environment from Forest Fires’
Purpose of the event:
As part of the event, the Young Members of Parliament will have the opportunity to
present the Parliamentary Reports of each committee with proposals and suggestions
to the decision-making centers of the Republic of Cyprus. Those present will have the opportunity
to meet the Young Members of Parliament who will present the Parliamentary Sessions
Reports of each committee with proposals and recommendations to the representatives and agencies
policymakers who will be at the event. Also, for the purpose of further promotion
of the program as well as with the aim of involving as many young people as possible in its institution
House of Young Representatives, the event will be open to the youth of Cyprus with
in order to get to know the program and participate in the 6th House of New Representatives
which will take place in March/April 2023.
