From 6th to 13th of May Cyprus Youth Council (CYC) participated at the 6th Mediterranean University on Youth and Global Citizenship in Tunisia powered by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe. The CYC was represented by its board member Mr.Nikolas Athinis.

Eight Activities and more than 150 participants across Europe and the South Mediterranean countries built a big community of youth workers and decision makers exploring new tools and opportunities to ensure more peaceful and inclusive societies.

The annual theme “The role of young people in promoting peace and inclusive societies” was the common element of all the activities and the main dimension of the work developed during this edition of the MedUni.

CYC actively participated at the Activate YOU(th) in the Mediterranean organized by the Consell Nacional de la Joventut de Catalunya. The project brought together 25 youth workers in the field of youth, members of National and International Youth Organizations and Youth Councils from the Euro-Mediterranean area in an effort to strengthen the EuroMed Youth Network and the cooperation between its members. By the end of the week the youth workers managed to collectively build the Euromed Youth Network structure and also, to design cooperation projects among its members with a view to promoting youth participation in the Euromed region and the Sustainable Development Goals. The internal regulations of the network have been formed, a steering committee has been voted and the 3 year strategic plan has already put into action.
