The National Agency of Malta is pleased to announce the launch of the activity Beyond and Above- Innovative youth work approaches as a recognised and value added tool for cross-sectoral cooperation in supporting young people’s transition to adulthood which will be held in Malta between the 29th May and 1st June 2017.

Seminar Overview

A 2 day Peer learning  seminar  related to Youth work as a recognised and value added tool for cross-sectoral cooperation in supporting young people’s transition to adulthood and the world of work.

The seminar will consider how youth work and non-formal learning can be employed and recognised as a means of better connecting and ensuring smoother transfer of young people to adulthood and the world of work. In particular, the seminar will focus on how youth work can help young people in acquiring those personal, social and workplace skills and competences in such fields as education, employment, and entrepreneurship based on the daily realities and routines of the world of work, its demands, pressures, disciplines, responsibilities and rewards.

The seminar will focus on how youth workers are utilising innovative approaches to engage with young people in particular early school leavers and NEETs. The peer learning seminar will allow for in-depth exchange of methodologies and good practices.

Participants profile:

  • A youth worker who has an innovative methodology
  • A young person-aged 18-30 (active in a youth organisation, can also include a youth leader)
  • A policy maker-active in the youth field at policy level
