The European Funding Guide includes more than  12,000 scholarships , grants and prizes worth EUR 27 billion . This platform was created from the collaboration between the non-profit ItS Initiative für transparente Studienförderung (Initiative for transparency in student finance) and the European Commission.

The European Funding Guide operates through an adjustment algorithm displaying only scholarships, grants and awards that truly fit the individual student profile. 12000 support programs cover a wide range of areas where students may need (financial) assistance – from everyday living expenses, tuition fees and additional costs for internship abroad, language courses, and costs related to the research.

Most students in Greece still believe that scholarships are only granted based on merit and need. Most also believe that it is only a few that will be provided scholarships. The truth is that there are more than 300 scholarship programs only in Greece and over 25 selection criteria for the scholarships granted. There is such a wide variety of scholarships and a substantial number of scholarship donors, so that sometimes they cannot allocate the whole funds because they receive too few applications.
